This website and your privacy.
This page shall set out what the Guiding Light Studios website does with personal information and cookies. In short, very little.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this website is Guiding Light Studios. The trader’s name and postal address are given in the legal line at the foot of this page.
What this website collects
This website does not use trackers, advertising or third-party analytics, and it does not ask you to create an account. The only form that collects your details is the LodeLux waitlist, described below. Whilst our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as the time of a request) so that the site can be run securely, we do not use them to identify visitors.
The LodeLux waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, the date you joined and confirmed, and the wording of the consent you gave. We use it for two emails only: one asking you to confirm your address (so that nobody can add you without your knowledge), and one on the day LodeLux opens, which we currently expect to be 1 January 2027. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in either email, or by writing to hello@guidinglightstudios.com.
An address that is not confirmed within 7 days is deleted automatically. Once the launch email has been sent, or as soon as you unsubscribe, we delete your address; we keep only a one-way code (a hash) so that we can make sure you are not emailed twice, and it cannot be turned back into your address. In order to stop abuse, the form briefly records a one-way code of your IP address for up to an hour; the address itself is not stored.
The waitlist is stored with Amazon Web Services in the United Kingdom (London), and the emails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service, acting for us as a processor. We do not use the list for anything else, we do not share or sell it, and the emails contain no tracking pixels or tracked links.
Cookies
The public pages of this website do not set cookies. The one exception is the passcode-protected LodeLux preview: if you enter a preview passcode, a single strictly necessary cookie is set so that you stay signed in to the preview. It is not used for anything else.
If you email us
If you write to hello@guidinglightstudios.com (or socials@guidinglightstudios.com), we shall use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we shall not share them for marketing.
Your rights and contact
You can ask to see, correct or delete any personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@guidinglightstudios.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
